A medium-sized delivery van, with left-hand drive. It’s probably electric, too, judging by the clean, enclosed engine compartment.

How it started: In my most recent individual brick purchase from Lego, I bought a few curved bricks that I thought would make nifty headlights. (I wanted them in clear, but they came only in white.) So, I started this with the headlights. They reminded me of the headlights on the vans that make deliveries in my neighborhood, so I built a delivery van. I started with the nose, and then added a cab. It didn’t look right, though. When I added the wheels under the seats, where I thought they should go, it sat up too high. When I tried placing the wheels back, behind the cab, and that looked worse. Then I raised the floor of the cab up one brick, and it was perfect. The rest of the truck came together without problem, except when I got to the roof and door of the cargo compartment, and I was running low on plates. I solved that problem well, I think.

What I like about it: I love this piece! Everything came together pretty much as I wanted. Some things, like the cab and the tail light assembly, came out ever better than I’d expected.

What I don’t like about it: There isn’t anything I don’t like about it, really. This thing turned out near perfection. The delivery vans in my neighborhood have split doors in the back, rather that one open-down door like my van, but I won’t worry about that.
