Spaceship GB3

Filed under: Lego, Space — Paul @ 10:54 pm

This is the third in the series of small and simple spaceships. Once again, I built this one without breaking down the first two. I really ventured away from the concept of “small and simple” with this one. It is my least favorite of the three. There are elements I like – the curved engine components in the back, between the pilot and those huge engines, for instance.

Actually, when I forget that I was aiming for “small and simple”. I like this spaceship quite a bit.

Right after I built Spaceship WB1, I decided to continue the theme and build another ship. This time, I gave myself the added challenge of not tearing down the first ship to build this one, thus limiting my choice of pieces. I like this second one a lot, even though I started getting away from the theme of “small and simple” a bit.

Phillip commented that the smaller rockets on the side arms look like guns, giving it a fighter look. I see his point, and I think that’s a mark against this model. I did not want to build a war rocket.

I imagine that extra piece on top of the pilot’s window must be a camera, because the pilot’s view is seriously limited, except for up.

I wanted to build a small and simple spaceship. I think I succeeded very well.
